Show Announcements

Exposed Music Festival Tomorrow in Houston

Greetings everyone! It’s been a hectic past couple of weeks, but as you may have noticed, we’re currently, and suddenly in the midst of a flurry of new shows happening within the next couple of weeks, starting with this weekend. We played two awesomely fun shows this past Thursday and Friday night at Headhunters in Austin, and Super Happy Funland in Houston – and today we’re gearing up for the grand finale: The Exposed Music Festival tomorrow evening at Warehouse Live in Houston!

Now, if you don’t know what this is, it’s a music festival (duh), but it’s put on by FUSE TV, hosted by Mistress Julia, and sponsored by cool brands like Jagermeister, Blueprint Artist Development, Stand and Deliver Records, and a whole bunch of others. Most importantly about this music festival, is it features local, “unsigned” talent, and it’s whole purpose (other than to make money), is to give serious, independent artists some extra exposure they may not otherwise get. We were lucky enough to be invited to play this year, and we’re very excited to be a part of this event!

So now, here’s the rundown the event tomorrow, and if you’re in the Houston area with nothing to do – Come out to this event! It WILL be worth your time and ticket price, so bring a friend, come hang out and hear some awesome local talent, at a great venue, Warehouse Live. Here are the event details:

WHAT: Exposed Music Festival hosted by Fuse TV
WHERE: Warehouse Live, Houston, TX (map)
WHEN: Doors Open 4pm – 12am
WHO: Life Stage, and plenty more great acts
COST: $12 at Door

Come out if you can tomorrow, we’re looking forward to this event! See you there.

Scheduled…Unscheduled

Ok, so for anyone who might happen to regularly read our blog here, you might already know how we sometimes like to feature the happenings and going on’s of the individuals who make up Life Stage (ie. Chris, Andy, Ross), IF they are particularly interesting enough to care about! :) Well my friends, this is such a post, and I think it’d be worth sharing a few things that are coming up in my (Ross), and our world. So here goes!

First of all, it’s no secret that I’m a married man. Yes I’m young, yes I’m a musician, but YES I am married! And I am quite happy being “tied up”. But really, that’s only the tip of the iceberg, and just serves as a preface for the next part, which is that I also have 2 kids! Well, make that, I have 1 kid, but after tomorrow, I’ll have 2! That’s right, my wife is scheduled to deliver around noon tomorrow, and thus will bring our new baby girl into the world! I know, crazy right? First there was the one (my son Remington), now it’s about to be two, and pretty soon it’s gonna be a farm around my house! :) But nevertheless, I’m super excited about it, and I wanted to share with you all this important landmark in my life.

SO. What does that mean for Life Stage? You may ask. Well..
Honestly, what this REALLY means, is that I’m going to work THAT much harder, and dig THAT much deeper in my creative and business endeavors here along with the rest of the band, and we’ll keep doing what we do! A New Life on the Earth – how much more relevent and inspiring can you get?

On a related note, just a week after my duaghter will have entered the world, we will be playing our next show down in Houston at a place called Dean’s Credit Clothing! (very cool place, check it out here: Dean’s Credit Clothing) Now this, unlike my daughter’s soon to be grand entrance, was completely unshceduled until this morning – i.e. we found out about it late last night, and were confirmed early this morning! We still don’t have all the details, but it will be March 26th at the aforementioned place, and we’ll be the middle of 3 bands. We’ll keep you posted on more info, I just wanted to mention it before my weekend just got totally crazy!

And that’s about all as far as news goes in my world! But if you want to know more about me or the band, and what’s going on, just ask here, or get on Facebook, Myspace, or Twitter, and give us a shout! We’d love to hear from you.

Keep in touch!

What are you doing Jan. 8th?

Hey everyone. Just wanna let you know that this coming Friday, January 8th, we’ll be playing our first headlining show of 2010 at Crazy Frogs Rock Venue in Houston, TX! There will be some other great talent there that night, and it should be a rockin time.

We’ll be last to go on that night, but the show kicks off at 10pm. Cover is $5 at the door, but all that money goes straight to us, so don’t worry! lol…

Crazy Frogs is a 21+ club, unless accompanied by your parent/guardian, and it’s located at 3939 FM 1960 @ Falling Creek DR. behind Chase Bank. We’d love to see you there, so if you can, come on out, and bring a friend or two! We’re looking forward to this show!

See you then, and don’t forget to tell them you’re there to see Life Stage! Thanks!

An Early Gift

Hey, thanks to a friend’s help today, we’ve got not one but TWO new gigs to promote for early 2010! They’re both at one of our favorite spots, Crazy Frog’s (champions 1960), and the first one is not far from now, January 8th. We’ll have a bit more time before the second one on February 12th, but we’re super excited anyways, as this, just a couple of days before Christmas, has turned out to be a truly SWEET and SURPRISING gift!

Also, if you hadn’t noticed, there’s a reason (well, a lot of reasons) that Life Stage hasn’t made too many outings in the past year, and it’s really mainly due to the fact that we’ve gotta lotta crap going on! I mean, really. Andy is in school, Chris works (but that’s not too big of a deal), and I’ve got a family to feed! :)   Couple that with the reality that our band has been in transition this entire year (released an EP, then had a few lineup changes), and you start to see that it can definitely be (and has been) difficult to round up gigs in our spare time! And that can be killer for a band, especially when a good amount of your momentum as a band comes from consistently putting on great shows.

SO. Why did I tell you all that? So you could cry for us? No. The point is, all of that which I just explained then makes this news of 2 new shows that we are ALL available for and can ALL do and that are in close proximity to each other (good for some momentum), THAT MUCH BETTER! Understand? Sweet.

Anyways, we’re freakin excited, pumped, excited, etc.. and we just wanted to share with you guys, and hopefully you’ll make plans to come out and see us! You’ve got two dates to choose from, so no excuses! :)

Talk to us. Hit us up. Let us know what you think. We’ll be in touch!
